I just typed in Norcross and found your information on rootsweb. My
grandmother was Mayberry Black d. of George Scott Black and Susan Tomlin.
George was the son of James C. Black and Sophia Norcross. I have never known
anything further and wondered if you could give me any other information. Do
you know any more than what you have written? Where was Rockbridge County,
VA. It is interesting that my grandmother had the first name Mayberry and
there was a child Willoughby Mayberry Black. Susan Tomlin Black was part

Roy Lee Ware, 53 of Cresaptown, died last night in Memorial Hospital where he was admitted July 13. Born at Linwood, WV, he was a son of the late Floyd and Amanda (Friel) Ware. Employed at the Amcelle Plant of the Celanese Corporation, Mr. Ware held membership in Local 1874, Textile Workers Union.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace (Brotemarkle) Ware; four sons Calvin and William D. both of Cresaptown; Charles K Ware, with the Air Force in North Africa, and Donald C. Ware, Baltimore; three daughters Mrs. Geraldine Dick and Betty Lou Jones, both of Cresaptown and Miss Penelope L. Ware at home; two step-children, Kenneth W. McCarty, Painesville, Ohio and Mrs. Phyllis Dean, LaVale; four brother Emery Ware, Marlinton,WV; Vernon Ware, Cass,WV; and Guy and Cameron Ware both of Barberton, Ohio; three sisters Mrs. Myrtle Swisher, Cass,WV; Mrs. Ella Buzzard, Frost, WV; and Mrs. Minnie Whitman of Indian Head, Md.; a stepbrother Nelson Brady of Cass, WV; and 14 grandchildren. Ware both Cresaptown; Charles K. Ware, stationed at Clarke Air Force Base in the Philippines, and Donald C. Ware at home; three daughters, Miss Penelope L. Ware at home, Mrs. Earl F. Dick and Mrs. Richard D. Jones, Cresaptown, and five grandchildren. Mrs. Ware also leaves four half-sister, Miss Glenna Cole, Franklin,WV; Mrs. Annas Row, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Pearl Houroff and Mrs. Icy Heaster, Texarkana, Texas, and a half brother Lee Cole, Marlinton, WV. Grace C. Nicholson- Mrs. Grace C. Nicholson, 79, of 130 Grand Avenue, died Friday Nov. 17,1989, at Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 26,1909, in Omaha, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Odith M. and Florence (Cordy) Brotemarkle. She was proceeded in death by two husbands, Roy L. Ware, in 1958, and James H. Nicholson in 1964. Mrs. Nicholson was a retired cook in the dietary department at Memorial Hospital with 36 years of service. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son, Kenneth W. McCarty, Pasadena, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis O. Dean, Cumberland; one stepbrother, James W. Cordry, Cumberland; two sister Mrs. Gertrude Bradley and Mrs. Jean Whetzel, both of Cumberland; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Virginia Ave., Saturday from 7 to 9pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Services will be conducted Monday at 1pm at St. John's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Lee A. McDaniel. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Burial Park. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.

He was a member of Cresaptown United Methodist Church, Aerie 2882, Cresaptown Eagles and a veteran of World War II. Service Set For Victim Of Fighting- A Requiem Mass for Marine Cpl. Timothy Dick, who was killed in action Dec. 11 in Vietnam, will be celebrated Thursday at 10am in SS. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church, Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The Rosary will be recited there tomorrow at 8pm. The young Marine was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dick, formerly of Cresaptown. The Dicks now reside in Greensburg, Pa. Cpl. Dick was a graduate of
Allegany High School and been in the Marines since May 1966. He recently had returned to duty after hospitalization for an illness contacted while in combat. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by a
Marine detachment from Connellsville, Pa., and members of Henry Hart Post 1411, VFW headed by David L.
Rinker, will attend a service tomorrow at 8pm at the funeral home. Those planning to attend will leave the post
Home at 7:30pm and are requested to wear VFW caps.

Charles "Chuck" Kenneth Ware Sr., 61 of 14101 Laura Lane, SW, Glen Oaks, Cresaptown, died Saturday January 6,1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Dec. 28,1934 in Rawlings, he was the son of the late Roy Ware and the late Amber (Cole) Ware. He also was preceded in death by his brother Calvin Ware. Mr. Ware was Retired from the U.S. Air Force, T/SGT. He had been and employee of the Cresaptown Eagles for the past 22 years as a bartender. He was a member of the Cresaptown Eagles 2883, and a member of the Cumberland
